Matthew, an
adorable six year old, began his "Fight for Sight" when
he was eleven months old. He was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma,
a cancer of the developing retina that only occurs in newborns,
infants and children under 5 years of age. Left untreated, this
disease is universally fatal. Matthew's Retinoblastoma was discovered
in time to save his life. In gratitude to Institute for Families
for their support throughout the ordeal, Matthew, his family and
his friends at Jiffy Lube, spearheaded an effort to raise awareness
and contributions to fight this detectable and curable disease.
This program was so successful in 2007 and 2008 that it will begin
again in May of 2009.Visit your local Jiffy Lube store for more
information and see how a small donation of $1.00 can benefit the
work being done at Institute for Families.
